Alpha Release August 1, 2006

Kapture, Inc. launched the Alpha Release of it's flagship internet service, http://www.kaptureinfo.com. The service allows users, through a browser plugin, to automatically save visited web pages into their own online search engine. Unique to the patent pending process is the use of the Kapture Session, in essence, a filmstrip model of the user's contiguous browser session. The initial focus of the company is to provide users a hands-free solution to the age-old internet problem of "Where did I find that...", ergo the company tag line "Your Internet Memory".

The company intends to offer a basic, free service to all users. The free service will cap users with a 2GB storage capacity, which the company claims will hold approximately 4000 viewed pages. Users tapping out their limit will face a choice of selectively removing sessions or subscribing to the service for additional capacity. A price schedule for additional storage is not yet available.

Perhaps where the real power of this model exists is in the Web 2.0 capability where users can privately share Kapture Sessions. Erik Lane, Founder and CEO, claims " Users will now be empowered to share a body of online research representative of their online experience at the click of a button. The days of copying and pasting page links are gone." In fact, the ease of use and genuine utility of the service was refreshing. Kapture utilizes the latest in software development advances evidenced through their use of AJAX components on a full open source platform.

Mr. Lane claims some exciting new features will be integrated into the service in the coming weeks and months. While tight lipped about the details, their home page makes it rather obvious that a community search capability is high on their minds at Kapture.
